Passage to India: Colors, Fashion, Beads

India has been an inspiration to designers for centuries, but in the past five years the country has taken off inspiring the likes of music, food, and fashion in the U.S.. Even Indian stores like FabIndia are now available to purchase in the US online and magazine’s like LUCKY are sharing this with their readers. The Indian fashion week, Lakme Fashion Week is now on the calendars of fashion editors in every country. We are all turning the pages of Indian VOGUE and waiting to see which designers at New York fashion week will be inspired by India. This season, designer like Chloe, Givenchy, and Balenciaga had hints of eastern elements to their design.

One can be inspired by the classic Indian designs that we are all familiar with or by the modern take with the eclectic mix of color and designs. Too bad this blog/site wasn’t kept up…there are a lot of great things on this site for modern style in India.

Indian trends are all about flair and not being afraid of mixing patterns. I love the idea of making everything pop. You can do that with color, design, or pattern. The rest of the week I am going to share ideas on how to achieve these trends by using the beads on Foxy Findings. Check out Haute Mimi’s tips on taking on stylist Indian trends.
